myLynn Login: Authentication and SSO services

The IT department use two services to authenticate users (CAS and AFDS).  Applications login page will look different depending on the authentication system they use! You may be required to use your myLynn account (jdoe) or your email address (jdoe@email.lynn.edu) to login.

All myLynn and Gradebook users will need to enter their complete Lynn email address (jdoe@lynn.edu or jdoe@email.lynn.edu) and password rather than just their user name (jdoe) and password. Passwords in both applications are the same.

Library databases require CAS to authenticate (using myLynn username and password). We will be working to move the remaining applications into ADFS authentication in the near future.

Below are the 2 authentication services and login pages we currently use:

Lynn ADFS page (use Lynn email address and password)

Applications: myLynn, Gradebook, Office365, 25Live

Lynn CAS page (use myLynn username and password)

Applications: Library Databases

What is LynnCAS and LynnADFS?
Lynn University Central Authentication Service (CAS) and Lynn ADFS are login services that allows you to access multiple password-protected web applications after logging in once (single sign-on). LynnCAS and LynnADFS currently supports several web applications, including myLynn, Grades and attendance and Office365.

LynnADFS will:
Provide a consistent and secure authentication for web applications.
Provide the infrastructure to allow single sign on in applications not currently supported.
Allow authentication with application hosted by external third parties.
Increase application security.

How do I log out LynnCAS and ADFS?
The best way to log out of LynnCAS or LynnADFS is to exit or close all active browsing applications. For Windows users, close all open browser windows.  For Mac users, the browsing application remains open until you quit the application from either the File menu or by right-clicking on the Dock icon.

Will my username or password change?
No,  your password will remain the same.  You will need to use either your myLynn username or your Lynn email address depending on the application until we transition all applications to LynnADFS.
