Lynn represented at National Sustainability Conference

The comprehensive water plan outlined within Lynn’s Sustainability Management Tool (SMT) was presented at the AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) Conference in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Representing Lynn was Steven Baumgartner from Buro Happold, a consultant to the university on various aspects since 2009.  “It’s important to communicate to the industry the excellent work that’s happening at Lynn and in South Florida - and also to learn from our peer institutions about their efforts and successes,” said Baumgartner.
The poster presentation, which engaged a conference attended by over 3,000 people, discussed the campus-wide Water Management Strategy as part of an overall SMT, the metrics used to verify and communicate success and the local political, social, economic and environmental drivers that are molding the university’s water response to a changing climate.  For information on the LU Water committee and their efforts, or to get involved, please contact the Dylan Kendrick at 561-237-7224 or dkendrick@lynn.edu.
